Ban Lake

Ban Lake is located near Elbow Lake off from the Elbow Lake Forest Road. Elbow Lake Forest Road is about 10 miles out of Orr towards Crane Lake. Ban Lake has a road on the North, North Ban Lake Spur and South Ban Lake Spur. The MN Dnr has recently installed a public landing on the North spur. The road is a seasonal road and not maintained in the winter. In the winter season you can access the lake by snowmobile. The Arrowhead Trail is near Ban Lake and the Voyageur Trail is nearby also.

Ban Lake Fishing information

Ban Lake is a fairly shallow lake. With a deep line that homes fish. it is 389 acres in size. Bass, walleye and northern are in the lake. Panfish and bluegill are similar in numbers to other lakes in the area.

Ban Lake has simple cabins and Yurts and homes that could be used multi seasons. Some lake homes have generators, propane and solar power for utilities.  The lake is wooded along the shoreline and most parcel are larger parcels. A variety of tree cover but mostly Pine and poplar dominate the area. Cedar and other pines are scattered among the pines.

Imagine paddling around the lake with the kids catching bluegill or casting along the shore for some bass. When you have spent the day on the lake you can relax at the lake cottage. Wake up to the sound of the loons and watch the deer stroll through the yard of your home on the lake. Hike the logging trails and explore the lands in the Superior National Forest or the State Forest Lands out your back door. Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are can be found in season growing wild.

With no development except a few cabins along the lake the night sky can be spectacular with the stars and in the fall the northern lights. Enjoy spending time around the campfire at your cabin with the family. When you are off the grid you can be away from the hustle and bustle of the city or you can use boosters and generators to have the comforts of home at the cabin.
