“Voyageurs National Park is Minnesota’s only full-fledged national park. It is uniquely water-based among national parks, with its interior accessible only by water. Hence, a mixture of 240 camping, houseboat and day-use sites dot the shores of four large, island-studded lakes, and dozens of smaller lakes, along the Canadian border. Within the park there are roughly 500 islands and 655 miles of shoreline to explore .” – From Rainy Lake Web Page
Welcome to the City of International Falls, Minnesota website. We are pleased you have chosen to connect to our site and hope you find it helpful in finding the information you desire. Whether planning to visit our city in the near future, seeking an economic opportunity or would just like to secure more information about our city.
There’s only one International Falls.
Our research shows there is only one city with the name International Falls. We truly are an international community with our city limits being the border between the United States and Canada. Therefore, these two countries share the friendliest border in the world. We are connected to our sister city of Fort Frances, Ontario by the International Bridge. Consequently, we work with our neighbors and have agreements to assist each other with emergency services and share our celebrations together. For example, the Canada Day (July 1st) and the Independence Day (July 4th) parades have the largest color guards leading them of most any parades in North America. The American Legion, Canadian Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations come together with the flags of Canada, Great Britain and the United States. Hence, it is a sight to behold! – From the City of International Falls Webpage
